Virtually all lenses and cameras have macro-focus capabilities. It's a major and somewhat unexplored aspect of photography that was much more difficult before 1980. The Canon MT-24EX Macro Twin Lite Ringlite Flash is a specially designed electronic-flash that adds appropriate illumination to your close-ups.

The new Macro Twin Lite gives serious close-up, nature, and macro enthusiasts a different Option in macro lighting - a directional quality of light, as opposed to the rather "Flat" Character of the traditional ring lite. Two separate flash heads can be swiveled around the lens, can be aimed separately, and even removed from their holder and mounted off-camera. Like the MR-14EX, the new Macro Twin Lite MT-24EX is fully E-TTL compatible with all EOS bodies, including Digital SLRs, and even allows Wireless E-TTL flash control with one or more 550EX and/or 420EX "slave units". It also provides easy ratio control of each flash head’s output, over a six-stop range.

The Canon MT-24EX Macro Twin Lite is a highly adaptable lighting system for all kinds of close-up and creative photography. The MT-24EX incorporates Canon E-TTL flash metering to deliver balanced exposure, even under difficult lighting situations. E-TTL flash metering balances ambient light and flash to achieve natural looking photographs.

Attaches to all Canon EF macro lenses (EF 180mm f/3.5L requires Macro Lite Adapter 72C)

When used with Speedlite 550EX units, wireless control of up to three slave groups is possible, with first or second curtain synchronization

Mounting ring can be attached directly to the front of the macro lens

Forward tilting control unit will not hit flash, even when mounting ring is rotated to full 50° extent
