Destroyer Music
Artist Overview
As an occasional member of Canadian pop supergroup the New Pornographers, Dan Bejar brings some serious indie cred to his early-2000s solo project, Destroyer. But while the New Pornos are all about Big Star riffs and Beatlesque harmonies, Destroyer is all about David Bowie. In fact, Bejar has often been accused of taking his Thin White Duke obsession well beyond the realm of acceptable homage. But one listen to Destroyer's stark, catchy glitter-folk, and all such accusations are rendered irrelevant.
