Dream Syndicate Music
Artist Overview
Led by Steve Wynn, the Dream Syndicate was one of the key bands of the so-called "Paisley Underground" of the 1980s, a batch of mostly West Coast bands influenced by the psychedelia and garage rock of the '60s. The Dream Syndicate threw a strong dose of Velvet Underground into the mix and filtered it all through a contemporary musical mindset. A hit on the college-rock circuit, they never made it through to the mainstream. Bassist Kendra Smith went on to form Opal, and eventually went solo, as did Wynn.
