The Minnesota-based pop punk band hit pay dirt with an immediately infectious blend of punk rock crunch, pop melody, and epic new wave touches. The band self-released their debut album, I AM THE MOVIE, in 2002, but were quickly scooped up by famed punk label Epitaph, who reissued the album a year later. Subsequent releases on Epitaph saw the band's popularity increase, and turned the MCST from scruffy punks into underdog Billboard pop stars.
