Artist Overview
Formed in Berlin in 1995, Jazzanova is a collective of six DJs with a shared love of classic jazz and smooth, electronica-influenced beats. The group's first effort, "Fedtime's Flight," was championed by BBC disc jockey and tastemaker Gilles Patterson, which put the group on the map for the dance underground. Remix projects followed, and Jazzanova soon teamed with Compost Records to form JCR, an independent record label specializing in unique dance music. IN BETWEEN, Jazzanova's full-length debut, appeared in 2002, followed by a remix project (of their own work and that of kindred electronica acts), a DJ-inflected journey through the classic Blue Note catalogue on 2005's BLUE NOTE TRIP and 2007's BELLE ET FOU.
