Though Eros Ramazzotti has been a huge success in the Latin music world since the mid 1990s, he is in fact an Italian artist. His blend of internationally appealing smooth pop and mainstream rock was already popular throughout Europe when Spanish-language versions of his albums began taking off in Spanish-speaking countries, and within a couple of years this Italian singer was a fixture on the Latin music charts. U.S. audiences took to Ramazzotti as well; he's recorded with Cher and has had a video directed by Spike Lee.
