His mixture of pure pop and Vegas-style swagger made him a major concert attraction and the target of the passionately flung underwear of excited female fans. His 1988 collaboration with Art Of Noise on Prince's "Kiss" was the start of a comeback that would last through the beginning of the 21st century.
