Aventura World-International
Artist Overview
Formed in 1994 in the Bronx, Aventura began as the dream of four young Dominicans (from the same family) who aspired to fuse bachata music with urban R&B and hip-hop. Although ostensibly a "boy band," Aventura set themselves apart from typical pre-fab outfits by writing their own material and playing their own instruments. Their debut arrived in 1999, and its follow-up, 2002's WE BROKE THE RULES, found a following with the help of its hit single "Obsession." Subsequent releases, such as LOVE & HATE and GOD'S PROJECT, found Aventura continuing to gain an audience in the hip-hop and R&B markets, without sacrificing the rootsy, Latin-influenced side of their sound.
