
Basic LAN architecture. The server is the central computer that contains software that is common to all the workstations (clients) in the network. The server also is involved in creating data archives for the network. The client is a remote channel of the server and is connected via an Ethernet interface card and a hub. Although many clients can perform many operations that are independent of the server, applications that are common to the group's needs are provided by the server.
