
A Light-Meter is an instrument that measures the amount of available light. Virtually any camera that has automatic-exposure capabilities also has a built-in light meter. Built-in light-meters usually follow certain parameters for measuring light and may have limitations for certain professional applications so, therefore, external light-meters are available. Fashion photographers, for example, use various different lighting to accentuate and accurately reproduce colors, textures, fleshtones. The illumination of the face may differ from the rest of the body. There may be a blend of natural and artificial lighting. Advanced light meters help provide information with which to get optimal exposure results from all the different factors
