Used as a performance scale for computer displays, Scan Rate is both the horizontal and vertical scan frequencies. Horizontal frequency is measured in kilohertz (Khz) and represents the time it takes to illuminate 1 line of pixels on the screen. Vertical is measured in hertz (Hz) referring to the the time it takes to illuminate the entire screen. Vertical frequency is also known as 'Refresh Rate'. 72+ Hz=Acceptable Refresh Rates.
