A pair of kids, sent to stay with their stuffy grandfather (David Niven) while their mother goes on vacation to Hong Kong, decide to make a little mischief. After noticing a pair of bumbling safecrackers (Don Knotts and Darren McGavin), the kids manage to fake their own kidnapping and proceed to make life miserable for the hapless would-be crooks.
