OTELLO was the traditional season opener at Teatro all Scala, and in December of 2001 this was the farewell production before a three year renovation started. Barbara Frittoli won over crowds and critics as Desdemona, and Placido Domingo considered this production his farewell to the role of Moro di Venezi.
