This rendition of Wagner's unparalleled masterpiece was performed at the Het Muziektheater in Amsterdam in 1999 with John Brocheler and Chris Merritt playing Woton and Loge, the gods who must steal the magical ring from the evil dwarf Alberich and trade it with the fearsome giants to win back Freia, the goddess of love.
