Singing cowboy Gene Autry stars in a quartet of vintage Westerns that offer equal parts action sequences and musical interludes. In BELLS OF CAPISTRANO (1942), rival rodeo companies compete for Autry's singing talents. In HEART OF THE RIO GRANDE (1942), he helps a spoiled rich girl appreciate life on her father's ranch. In UNDER FIESTA STARS (1941), he inherits a ranch and fends off crooks who attempt to swindle the property. And in SHOOTING HIGH (1940), a Hollywood film crew lands in Autry's town to make a movie about his heroic grandfather.
