Polish auteur Jan Jakub Kolski produces another impressive magical realist fable with this odd, whimsical cautionary tale. Johnny Aquarius (Franciszek Pieczka) is an eccentric peasant who lives a simple life with his much-younger, pregnant wife--until he suddenly becomes able to heal the sick and control the weather. He then leaves his wife and travels from town to town, performing his amazing feats and basking in the adoration of the townspeople... until circumstances suddenly force him to reevaluate his actions and motives.
