Set in Thailand, ROMEO & JULIET: A MONKEY'S TALE transposes the romantic tragedy by William Shakespeare to the animal kingdom. The city of Lopburi hosts around 4,000 Crab-eating Macaques divided into two rival groups: the temple monkeys (keepers of the palace ruins) and the market clan (living in the city's ghetto). Going against the traditions of their troupes, two monkeys from a different clan fall in love and meet up for secret trysts.
