While the compilation primarily features younger artists such as Carrie Underwood (a graceful reading of "Do You Hear What I Hear") and Brad Paisley (a charming take on "Winter Wonderland"), the well-sequenced set also makes room for a few tracks by the old guard, most notably Ronnie Milsap ("It Came Upon A Midnight Clear") and the late Johnny Cash, who closes HEAR SOMETHING COUNTRY CHRISTMAS with a poignant rendition of "Silent Night." Hear Something Country: Christmas rounds up 14 Christmas-themed songs, six of them new and previously unreleased, by mainstream country stars.
