Simultaneously signaling the supremacy of the internet age (especially as it impacts music) and the growing influence of contemporary hip-hop and R&B on jazz, this album is a funky, cool nod to jazz-pop fusion with a smooth, urban soul vibe (complete with complementary vocals and raps). Baldwin's bursts of keyboard improvisation keep the jazz element high in the mix, however.
JazzTimes (p.120) - "Baldwin is one of the genre's most talented keyboardists, and he makes the blending of pop and R&B rhythms look easy."
