Distributor: Revolver USA Distribution Notes: Cloudland Canyon's embracing of all things Krautrock continued unabated on their third full-length, LIE IN LIGHT. The album's opener--with the near self-parodying title "Krautwerk"--fuses the driving groove of Neu, the atmospherics of Cluster, the drum accents of Can, and the spacey effects and chant-like vocals of Hawkwind into one uber-Teutonic celebration. While the last cut, "Lie in Light," lies closer to Growing's dense drone, in between are surprising stabs at melodic structure new to the half-German, half American duo.
