Alliance Notes: The long-running, ultra-successful Vans Warped Tour has been happily serving the Hot Topic generation for over a decade now and shows no signs of slowing down. With a roster that focuses on punk, hardcore, and emo acts almost exclusively, it's filled a niche that was being ignored for far too long. This compilation features two discs and 50 tracks from the bands playing on the 2008 edition, including HorrorPops, Gym Class Heroes, Against Me!, and Flogging Molly, among others. These selections amply showcase the breadth of styles that tour goers can look forward to. In its 14th year, the Warped Tour showed no sign of slowing down. Originally conceived as an extreme sports and punk rock show, the event eventually came to encompasses many types of alternative music. The 2009 edition of the Warped Tour compilation CD showcased a thriving scene where legendary West Coast old schoolers like NOFX and Bad Religion raged right alongside young turks such as poppy reality-show-twins-led Madina Lake and helium-voiced emo kids A Skylit Drive.
