Distributor: E1 Distribution (USA) Notes: You may know Linda Ronstadt best as a purveyor of mainstream L.A. pop of the sort that was ubiquitous on the charts in the 1970s, but her folk-rock past is amply displayed here. This disc combines two 1967 albums by Ronstadt when she was singing with the Stone Poneys, mixing rock, folk, and country in an earthy, often understated manner. The Michael Nesmith-composed hit "Different Drum" is here, but so are equally entrancing tunes penned by folk legend Fred Neil and others.
