Distributor: City Hall Notes: Guitarist Mickey Baker is best known as half of Mickey & Sylvia of "Love Is Strange" fame, but he also spent decades as a crack session guitarist proficient in rock, blues, and jazz. Here he displays his virtuosity on the acoustic guitar, tackling a batch of classic blues tunes and playing mostly in an impressive country blues fingerpicking style (the "jazz" part of the title is mostly theoretical). His deft fretwork is nicely complemented by agreeably laconic vocals and an otherwise unadorned setting throughout.
