Producer: Bob Crewe; Bob Gaudio
Distributor: WEA (Distributor)

Notes: All tracks have been "digitally enhanced" and re-mixed. Most feature the late 1970's incarnation of The Four Seasons with Frankie Valli. Producers: Bob Crewe, Bob Gaudio, Turner D. Centri. All tracks have been digitally remastered. Composers: Curtis Mayfield; Charles Patrick; George Malone; Frankie Lymon; Warren Davis; Turner D. Centri; Judy Parker; Maurice Williams; Morris Levy; Bob Crewe; Bob Gaudio. Personnel: Frankie Valli (vocals). Audio Mixer: Anthony d'Amico. Audio Remixer: Ben Liebrand. An excellent, if necessarily incomplete (only 12 tracks) best-of by one of the great underappreciated bands of the '60s. Some of their '70s hits are here as well, including the nicely nostalgic "December 1963 (Oh What Night)," and there's a cute if irrelevant dance remix of their early hit "Big Girls Don't Cry," but it's the '60s stuff here that really resonates. The song selection emphasizes the Season's pure pop side; in fact, thanks to Seasons songwriter Bob Gaudio's infectious tunes, lead singer Frankie Valli's seemingly helium-induced falsetto and, Bob Crewe's psychedelically vivid productions, one can make a reasonable case that the stuff here is the purest pop music ever made. Hear it and be changed forever.
