Performer: D-Block
Artist: Beanie Sigel; OJ Da Juiceman; DJ Webstar; Red Cafe Distributor: E1 Distribution (USA) Notes: Audio Mixer: Dragan "Chach" Cacinovic. A wild 2009 mixtape, NO SECURITY is mostly D-Block setting the table for its long-awaited debut under its new name--before 2001, they were the solo-career spawning LOX. Anarchy reigns on the aptly named NO SECURITY as the three former LOX-ers, Sheek Louch, Jadakiss, and Styles P, seem intent on forming a sprawling posse to rival Wu-Tang proportions. However, the chaos breeds adventure, particularly on "Round and Round," mixing samples of Nolan Thomas's freestyle cautionary tale "Yo Little Brother" with the kiddie chant song "Wheels on the Bus."
The Yonkers trio of Jadakiss, Styles P, and Sheek Louch, long known as the hardcore rhyme force the LOX, rechristened themselves in 2001 as D-Block. Where the former was a closed unit of three, D-Block added a ginormous supporting crew, building a stable of rappers approaching Wu-Tang dimensions. D-Block's rolling out was slow and steady while the three central MCs concentrated on solo careers, but late in the decade the mixtapes started to come in a flurry as they were ready to unveil their anarchic, adventurous new sound.
