Like the H.O.R.D.E. and Lilith Fair concert spectacles, the 1998 Family Values tour zeroed in on its market and presented the artists most admired by the target audience. In this case, the musical order of the day is the cross-section between metal, hip-hop and industrial music, occupied by acts like Limp Bizkit, Korn and Orgy. While the aforementioned blaze away in a largely rock-identified format, it's the addition of hip-hop legend Ice Cube to the roster that lends real credence to the cross-cultural possibilities of an event like the Family Values tour. If you're looking for softness or subtlety, search elsewhere; but if you want grinding riffs, pounding beats and boatloads of cathartic angst-venting, seek no further.
