Distributor: (Independently by Label) Notes: Formed in the early 2000s, Solido bring a fresh new approach to the norteno music scene. On their 2007 album CUIDADO, the band takes the traditional norteno/tejano template and updates it with contemporary pop and rock flavors, and even the occasional touch of country. The overall effect is that of someone taking an Anglo pop radio station and re-routing its signal through a Tex-Mex border station pumping out conjunto stompers and banda ballads. This agreeable fusion of styles likely went some way towards netting the band their Grammy nomination for CUIDADO as Best Norteno Album.
