You'd need a huge box set to fully encompass the Texas blues scene, but this single disc does it in as succinct a manner as possible, including a range of artists from the well known (Lightnin' Hopkins, Albert Collins) to the more esoteric (Goree Carter, Lonnie Lyons). From Collins' immortal "Collins Shuffle" to Johnny Winter's trenchant take on Robert Johnson's "Kind Hearted Woman," this thumbnail sketch of Texas Blues hits plenty of highlights.
