THERE STANDS THE DOOR is surely the definitive anthology of their career, containing not only key tunes from their albums but a wealth of bonus tracks. The group's harmonies and mixture of acoustic picking and rock rhythms represented a sort of halfway point between the commercial folk sound of groups like the Kingston Trio and the more intense, adventurous work of the Byrds and their ilk. It's captured here in all its glory with a package that will please both hardcore fans and newcomers.
