Performer: Original Soundtrack/Theodore Shapiro/Various Artists
Producer: D. Sardy; Jennifer Hawks (Compilation); John Hamburg (Compilation); Donald De Line (Compilation); Brian McNeilis (Compilation); Skip Williamson (Compilation)
Distributor: RED Distribution

Notes: Personnel: Joel Shearer, David Levita (guitar); John "4 Daddman" Robinson (percussion). The soundtrack for director John Hamburg's male bonding comedy I Love You, Man is a miscellaneous collection of rock standards and alternative nuggets ranging from songs by Vampire Weekend to the Cars' "Good Times Roll." Clearly, Rush figures in the plot of the picture, since the Canadian prog rock gods get two tracks of their own before the lead actors, Paul Rudd and Jason Segal, discover their inner Geddy Lee by taking over vocals on a cover of "Limelight." There aren't many albums that can boast tracks by Beck as well as Dean Martin (OK, none other than this one), but the collection will make a nice souvenir for those who enjoyed the movie. ~ William Ruhlmann
