It's a simple formula, but more than a decade after the Austin, Texas, band showed millions "The Way," Fastball continue to create dynamic and catchy power pop on the 2009 record LITTLE WHITE LIES, their fifth. This is not to imply the album is one-note. While the title track mines familiar Elvis C.-style territory to great effect, injecting an infectious disco breakdown near the end, "We'll Always Have Paris" melds a classic Badfinger melody with Guided By Voices confusion, while "All I Was Looking For Was You" throws in a touch of Charley Pride troubadour-ism.
