You get everything from guitar heroes like Robben Ford to soulful belters like Shemekia Copeland, but this collection isn't limited to one generation. Older artists who remained relevant and active in a new era, like New Orleans R&B queen Irma Thomas and gospel group The Blind Boys of Alabama, are also represented. A bonus disc that takes things global with a collection of songs by Malian "bluesman" Samba Toure provides an interesting left-field touch.
