Performer: UFO
Distributor: Ryko Distribution

Notes: UFO: Andy Parker (drums); Paul Raymond, Phil Mogg, Vinnie Moore. Personnel: Phil Mogg (vocals); Paul Raymond (guitar, keyboards); Vinnie Moore (guitar). If the term "journeyman" could be applied to a band, it would be a good fit for UFO. Since 1969, the band has consistently delivered solid albums of no-nonsense hard rock, occasionally dipping into space rock, AOR, and metal along the way. THE VISITOR features original vocalist Phil Mogg and original drummer Andy Parker, along with guitar shredder legend Vinnie Moore (original bassist Pete Way was unable to participate due to health issues). True to form, the album is full of energetic, straight-ahead heavy rock. "Stranger in Town" is driven by a monster riff reminiscent of Deep Purple's 80's comeback PERFECT STRANGERS, while "Saving Me" features bluesy slide guitar that would fit in well on a classic Led Zeppelin track.
UFO were a British hard rock band who, during the course of their long career, dabbled in blues rock, space rock, metal, and AOR. The band is often cited as a key influence on the NWOBHM. Formed in 1969, UFO pirated away a young Michael Schenker from the Scorpions. The then-fledgling guitar hero graced some of the band's most well-regarded albums, and is credited with helping UFO define their signature sound, before rejoining the Scorpions in the late '70s. The '80s were not kind to UFO, though the band's classic line-up (including Schenker) did re-form for an album and shows in the mid '90s.
