Notes: This is an Enhanced CD, which contains both regular audio tracks and multimedia computer files. Sony/Legacy's 2009 budget-line compilation PLAYLIST is an excellent collection of TLC's biggest hit singles. This 14-track collection may be missing a handful of charting hits, but they're all relatively minor ("Hat 2 Da Back," "Silly Ho," "I'm Good at Being Bad," "Dear Lie," "Come Get Some"). All the big songs -- "Ain't 2 Proud 2 Beg," "Creep,' "Waterfalls," "Diggin' on You," "Unpretty" -- are here in a tight, entertaining collection that rivals other, more expensive best-ofs in terms of its coverage.

This Atlanta-bred R&B trio was a hit straight out of the gate with its 1992 debut album. Role models for a generation of girls, TLC presented (and comported) themselves as strong, independent women, both sensual and powerful. Their followup album was a multi-platinum affair, but subsequent legal/financial battles nearly finished the group, delaying their third album significantly. TLC bounced back again with renewed confidence, but member Lisa "Left-Eye" Lopes was tragically killed in a car accident in 2002.
