On their fifth studio album, SUSQUEHANNA, the Cherry Poppin' Daddies move away from the big-band swing revival sound usually associated with their name. That's not to say the band have lost their horn section, or their penchant for vintage styles, or that they're playing straight rock now. The Daddies are just as idiosyncratic as ever, mixing flamenco, reggae, and Cab Calloway-like novelty jazz into their brand of catchy pop. In fact, on SUSQUEHANNA, the Cherry Poppin' Daddies sound more like a pop band than ever before (albeit one with diverse influences), making their listener-friendly sound friendlier than ever.
