Previous efforts by German-English club outfit Cascada took a half-original and half-covers-based approach that split the difference between thumping, straightforward Eurotrance and more tentative stabs at a commercially-viable pop dance sound. On their third full-length, 2009's EVACUATE THE DANCEFLOOR, Cascada's chart ambitions come to the fore on material ranging from Lady Gaga-esque floor-burners ("Evacuate the Dancefloor") to electro-fueled power-pop ("Breathless") and piano-driven torch songs ("Draw the Line").
Originally called Cascade until legal conflicts forced them to change their name, Cascada is a slick, uplifting Euro-dance trio featuring producers DJ Manian and Yanou (best known for work on DJ Sammy's "Heaven") and fronted by vocalist Natalie Horler (Horler is occasionally presented as Cascada herself). The outfit were an international smash out of the box with the 2006 crossover hit "Everytime We Touch." Cascada showed surprising staying power, scaling pop and club charts on both sides of the Atlantic for years.
