Performer: Hank Williams, Jr.
Artist: Ray Charles; Waylon Jennings
Distributor: WEA (Distributor)

Notes: Producers: Jimmy Bowen, Hank Williams, Jr., Billy Sherrill. Even though this second Hank Williams, Jr. Greatest Hits package is a bit lighter than the first, this is still an enjoyable sampler of Bocephus tunes from the mid- to late '80s. The ten tracks include a few staples in Hank Jr.'s catalog: "All My Rowdy Friends Are Coming Over Tonight," "Attitude Adjustment," and "Honky Tonkin'." Also featured are several duets, including two with Waylon Jennings ("The Conversation" and the similarly themed "Leave Them Boys Alone") and one each with Ernest Tubb and Tanya Tucker, as well as the single "Two Old Cats Like Us" with Ray Charles, which was not available on any other album at the time. ~ Al Campbell A well-chosen hits collection covering 1983 to 1985, including "Leave Them Boys Alone" and "All My Rowdy Friends Are Coming Over Tonight." ~ William Ruhlmann
Hank Williams Jr. spent years trying to duplicate his famous father's sound. But his greatest success came when he shook off that weighty mantle. Williams's new sound integrated country and southern rock, a formula that made him one of country's biggest stars of the 1980s. Down the line, he proved to be influential to a new generation of rebels like Kid Rock and Uncle Kracker.
