The first volume in this collection of sweet soul songs gets off to a fine start. While the choices are often obscure (a Con Funk Shun album track?), they're also right in groove with the series' theme (e.g., Larry Graham's "One in a Million You," Patti LaBelle's "If Only You Knew").
