Distributor: Madacy Distribution Notes: Madacy's Rock On 1989: Miss You Like Crazy is a brief survey of the year with a focus on ballads. Metal ballads like White Lion's "When the Children Cry" and Winger's "Headin' for a Heartbreak," rock ballads like Mike + the Mechanics' "The Living Years" and Bad English's "When I See You Smile," middle of the road ballads like Richard Marx's "Right Here Waiting" and the Bee Gees' "One." The one song that isn't a ballad is quite jarring: Karyn White's "Secret Rendezvous." While it could have used a few more tracks to bring the total running time up a little, this is one of the better discs in the Rock On series because it has a theme and mostly sticks to it. So if you were looking for ballads from 1989, this CD would actually be a good place to start. ~ Tim Sendra Far too skimpy and far too random to provide an accurate summary of the year being covered, each volume in the Rock On series features only 12 songs (so lots of disc space goes to waste), which are usually thrown together without much thought. These are budget discs in the truest sense, and none of them should act as significant representations. Rock On, 1989: Miss You Like Crazy includes Debbie Gibson's "Lost in Your Eyes," the Jeff Healey Band's "Angel Eyes," Mike & the Mechanics' "The Living Years," White Lion's "When the Children Cry," Kix's "Don't Close Your Eyes," and Natalie Cole's "Miss You Like Crazy." ~ Andy Kellman
