Performer: Saxon
Engineer: Thomas Kukuck; Hans Steffen
Producer: Biff Byford; Rainer Hansel
Distributor: BMG (distributor)

Notes: Saxon: Biff Byford (vocals); Paul Quinn, Doug Scarrat (guitar); Nibbs Carter (bass); Nigel Glockler (drums). Recorded live by The Gaga Studio Recording Mobile, Germany in December, 1995. Another live album, another source of cash flow in Saxon's never-ending mission to relive their glory days at the forefront of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. Sure, it's never going to happen, but who can fault them for trying to make a living? Recorded during their European tour in support of the surprisingly strong Dogs of War disc, The Eagle Has Landed, Vol. 2 delves deeply into the band's latter-day catalog and offers excellent sound quality to boot. But only Saxon fanatics will feel the need to check out these live renditions. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia
Along with Iron Maiden and Judas Priest, Saxon was one of the key bands in the early-1980s scene known as the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. Using the hard-rock template laid out by Deep Purple and Black Sabbath but playing a faster, louder, and more theatrically bombastic version of it, Saxon's sound would influence a plethora of metal bands--from Megadeth and Bathory to Metallica and the Darkness--for decades to come.
