Distributor: (Independently by Label) Notes: This package goes to great lengths to stress that it was once a five-record set, shrunk down to a three-disc set -- sort of oldies by the pound. The titles printed on the outside of the package are all the info you get; no booklet, no liner notes, no recording information of any kind are to be found, but there's a good reason for that. Quite simply, this set is a major burn, with inferior recuts festooned between others that are the original versions. Some of these recuts are pretty close to the originals (they're supposed to be), taking a trained ear to unfold the chicanery. But with oldies packages that feature nothing but the original versions out and about, there's no sense in wasting your money on this quick cash-in. ~ Cub Koda
