Hard on the eyes and put together on what must have been a very small budget, every volume of SPG's Pure Energy series throws together a random assortment of pop-oriented club hits, many of which were forgotten by the time the discs hit record-store shelves. These discs will be most useful to wedding DJs and those who like dance-pop but aren't concerned with really staying current. Though they're cheap in every sense of the word, each volume does have a small share of enduring tunes. The seventh volume includes Ice Cube's "You Can Do It," Delerium's "Silence," Alex Party's "U Gotta Be," Mya's "The Best of Me," and -- naturally -- Hampton the Hampster's "The Hampsterdance." ~ Andy Kellman
