But THE ALL STAR JOCK JAMS has more to offer than mere macho fist-pumping. Blur's "Song 2" is a pop masterpiece of sonic brevity--ultra-quiet verses, slamming chorus--whose hook of "Wahoo!" makes its inclusion a no-brainer. Likewise Fatboy Slim's "Right Here Right Now," whose agonizingly slow minute-long disco electronica build-up leads to a classic sonic release and the point of the song--"Right here! Right now!" Kernkraft's "Zombie Nation" owes a big debt to German electronic music pioneers Kraftwerk--it's included here for its massed vocal chorus--while Moby's "Go," notwithstanding its obvious hook, is another nugget of classic dance electronica.
