Largely the work of keyboardist/composer/producer Rex Rideout, Ridin' High features a strong supporting cast of musicians, including saxophonist Gerald Albright, trumpeter Mark Ledford, and guitarist Marc Antoine. All of these players are stars in their own right and add much style and color here. One of the big strengths Rideout has brought to the album is a strong R&B influence covering tunes such as the Frankie Beverly classic "Before I Let You Go" and also featuring vocalists Marc Dorsey and Maysa on some tracks. ~ Matt Collar
