The second compilation of previously unreleased live performances from Morning Becomes Eclectic host Nic Harcourt's vast collection, KCRW: Sounds Eclectic Too features intimate versions of songs by many big-name artists, oftentimes when they weren't quite big names yet, recorded between March and June 2001. Dido (who sings a track from an album that came out in 1999, but didn't really do much in the States until 2001, with her appearance on Eminem's "Stan"), Norah Jones (whose debut, Come Away with Me, was released in 2002), Mexican singer Julieta Venegas, and Coldplay's Chris Martin all contribute soft, haunting songs, while R.E.M. and French electronica duo Air add their own practiced touch. Many of the artists included on the compilation are British, as Harcourt has a penchant for his countrymen, but all the songs fit together well, making for a consistently enjoyable listen. ~ Marisa Brown
