This two-disc tribute to influential British metal band Iron Maiden includes vocals by the band's original singer, Paul Di'Anno, as well as appearances by metal vocalist also-rans like Steve Overland, Steve Grimmett, and Doogie White. There's even a contribution from infamous heavy metal journeyman Bernie Shaw ("Fear of the Dark"). For the most part, the album stacks up well instrumentally, with appropriate amounts of histrionic soloing, dueling rhythm guitar chug, and lockstep drumming. But while it's relatively accomplished, nothing quite rings with the same rage that the real Maiden brought to the table. It's an interesting set for aficionados of the group, however. ~ Johnny Loftus
