Tributee: John Lennon. Personnel: Alexandra Leem (viola). Recording information: Stairway Studio, Media, PA. The String Quartet Tribute to John Lennon doesn't really hit its stride until about a third of the way through, with the wistful melody of "Watching the Wheels." After that, the instrumental performances for violin, viola, and cello do wonders with the psychedelia of "Mind Games," twisting it into a lilting, soothing romp. The tribute's version of "Give Peace a Chance" might be best. Over limited percussion, a cello plucks out a steady rhythm, over which violin and viola drift in, framing the song's famous chorus. It's perfect for your next bed-in. ~ Johnny Loftus
