Distributor: Madacy Distribution Notes: Liner Note Author: David Roy. The songs chosen for inclusion on Madacy's Ultimate 80s span the entire decade. The set -- two discs, 30 songs -- is strictly rock-oriented, encompassing hard rock, new wave, and adult contemporary. It's more focused than the average '80s compilation, but that doesn't necessarily make it exceptional; in fact, it's still pretty interchangeable since almost all of the songs have appeared many times over on other budget-bin collections. Featured songs include the Cars' "Shake It Up," the Pretenders' "Back on the Chain Gang," Blondie's "Call Me," Roxette's "The Look," Foreigner's "I Want to Know What Love Is," and the Georgia Satellites' "Keep Your Hands to Yourself." ~ Andy Kellman
