Notes: Since the world of Crunk is singles-driven and always changing, tracks fly by faster than licensing departments can catch them, and bootleg mixtapes are almost always better than any commercial release. But Crunk: Da Mix Tape has a fairly decent track list, with Lil Jon & the East Side Boyz, Ying Yang Twins, and honorary "Crunker" Ludacris, so mixtape excitement should be easy to duplicate. Problem is, DJ Crunk Mix needs a lesson in pacing. Things don't get moving until we're seven tracks in, then it slows down again, then it picks up, then it slows down more than before. The "Lil' Jon Mega Mix" bumps hard, shows that our DJ has skills, and beats anything else on the album. But that's only seven minutes of uninterrupted rump-shaking, so why bother? ~ David Jeffries Since the world of crunk is singles-driven and always changing, tracks fly by faster than licensing departments can catch them and bootleg mixtapes are almost always better than any commercial releases.
