Performer: Various Artists
Producer: Michael Anderson (Compilation); Dean Babin (Compilation) Distributor: BMG (distributor) Notes: Bring It! is an "as seen on TV"-style comp that blends singles from the East Coast and Dirty South for an enjoyable, if somewhat dated, listen. Tracks from Busta Rhymes ("Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See") and Lord Tariq & Peter Gunz ("Dj Vu [Uptown Baby]"), for example, date from 1997, and the double shot of Lil' Kim's "Crush On You" and "Get Money" from Junior M.A.F.I.A. go all the way back to 1995-1996. Still, most of the material on Bring It! has aged quite well, particularly Fabolous' debut single, "Can't Deny It," Clipse' "Grindin'," and the raw tension in Noreaga's "Superthug (What, What)." Representing the South is Mystikal's "Shake It Fast," as well as the shirt-waving Petey Pablo anthem "Raise Up" and B-Rock & the Bizz's hyperactive novelty "My Baby Daddy." ~ Johnny Loftus
